I Magistral Ciutat de Badalona

C.E. Badalona

The most important tournament within the world of chess is a Master’s one.

Our Tournament, I MAGISTRAL CIUTAT DE BADALONA, will achieve category IX and will prove one of the most important ones in Spain, only after Linares, which actually is the most important tournament in the world.

Badalona, has already five chess clubs promoting the game at all levels. Appart from children and amateur, two major open tournaments and two closed ones, also very important, are organised.

This hard effort made by all Badalona chess clubs is now completed with the present I MAGISTRAL CIUTAT DE BADALONA, which will rise our town up as the main Spanish town in the chess field.

The tournament will be played from the 5th to the 15th march in the outfittings of the Club Natació Badalona.

Three of the players are Great Masters of first importance: Atanas Kolev, from Bulgaria, Viktor Moskalenko, from Ukrania, and Artur Kogan, from Israel. Besides, there’s an International master from Peru, Arturo Vidarte. They all will fight with some young and really promising catalan players: Marc Narciso, Antoni Gual, Juanma López, Ramon José Abril, Joan Fluvià and Manuel Granados.

We have the whole support of the town council and its area of Sports and Tourism, and also of the Catalan, the Spanish and the International Chess Federations.
